Hello and welcome!

We're so glad you’re here.

Heart of Hazel Counseling Services was founded on the guiding principle that no one should endure suffering alone. We are here to support, listen, and walk alongside you as you navigate your way through the darkness. We’re not glad you’re suffering, but we’re so glad you’ve found your way here.

Family planning can bring unique challenges.

It can be a wildly isolating time when what you thought would be your pregnancy/postpartum story turns out vastly different.

Grief exists in many experiences and my approach is to meet you in the darkness and help you get to know your grief. What’s that Death Cab for Cutie line? Then I will follow you into the dark.

I work to provide a non-judgmental space in which you can come just as you are. I have a strong, “say anything” policy. Nothing is off limits. Through this, we will work to engage in strategies to develop safety, attune to your needs, and rediscover you.

When others meet us with nonjudging compassion, we experience a sense of belonging that polishes the rough edges of grief.
— Joanne Cacciatore, PhD.

Let’s polish the rough edges of grief, together.

Hi, I’m Sara.

I am so very stoked you’re here. It's not spoken about enough how hard it is to engage in reaching out to a therapist when you’re in the middle of the darkest hour. I want you to know I see you and I’m already rooting for you! You have taken the first step in accessing support and that’s huge.

I have worked in a diverse array of settings and gained some incredible experience due to brave clients just like you who have taken the leap and leaned into the heart (read: hard) stuff. It’s with their stories in mind that I have learned intimately about the resilience of the human spirit. It is a great honor to sit and share space with individuals that are working to navigate some of life’s most profound challenges.

If you are currently struggling to wade through such challenges, you do not have to do it alone. I am here to walk beside you, support your efforts at navigating the hard and help you learn how to engage with life in new and meaningful ways.
